about
This song was written with Amy Wadge and Will Rendle on the day of the bombings in London - we were at a songwriting retreat in Kent and felt so out of touch with what was going on that day.
lyrics
I've got a secret,
It's easy to keep,
I lift up the carpet,
Sweet it beneath,
There's a mountain to climb,
But nobody knows its there,
Oh disturbing a secret,
With a knock at the door,
A telephone ringing,
But I never take the call,
So nobody knows that I'm there,
Cut me up with your words,
Bring me down to my knees,
I am broken and tired,
Fix me please,
These four walls they're gonna help me,
These four walls they're gonna save me,
These four walls they're gonna break me in the end,
And there's rainbows through windows,
Colours in bloom,
And I'm stuck in the making,
In this white cocoon,
And I could fly if I tried,
But nobody wants me up there,
Build me up with your lies,
Just pretend to me please,
Look me right in the eyes,
Straight through me,
I'm letting in the light and letting life decide its meaning,
Clever can't communicate the way your life's leaning,
Is there anybody really there?
Does anybody even care?
I'm stuck inside these four walls can you hear me?

From the glacial beauty of Northern Lights to the homesick strum of Tennessee, you’ll hear the echoes of Joni Mitchell,
Christine McVie and K.D. Lang. These nine heartfelt songs detail love, ambition and human fragility – all told through Emily’s distinctive, soulful voice.
If you like your music real and raw, you’ll be swept away by All At Sea....more
a seriously beautiful album made by two people that have done more for me than they will probably ever realise. wonderful musicians, very funny and quite quite brilliant Emily Baker

Their voices are wonderfully harmonic, and they have an easy, musician's timing. This is best listened to in a quiet room with eyes closed. Jeff Albright
